Mauritius
Mauritius is for me the most picturesque island, and its scenery is varied and beautiful . Besides the beautiful coastline that surrounds Mauritius, the greater portion of the inland plains are now covered by vast sugar fields. Upon flying over the island it is a striking feature and gives a peculiar beauty and freshness to the island.
Mauritius has a 60% Indian population or as I have been corrected "Indo-Mauritian" and it has been growing steady, while the non-Indian population has decreased . There is an ever growing Chinese community, while the remaining population include persons of European, African or mixed descent, Malagasy, Malays and Sinhalese .
The island boasts many tourist locations and has some of the best island resorts you will find. There is much to do, hiking, boating, etc. You could rent a car and explore the whole island over a couple of days. You will fall in love with this little piece of paradise.
If I could recommend one holiday destination you have to visit, it would be the beautiful island of Mauritius.
